Walk with me
I have a boutique just outside the Sultan’s Palace compound. My designs, tailored by my own staff are doing quite well. The students in Jogja’s universities used to be my biggest customers. While I’m becoming more popular with them, a whole new world has opened up via facebook. Today my clothes are selling right across Indonesia. I’m now thinking of opening a boutique in Jakarta. Harry, my husband says he’ll be happy working for me.
If I’m going to open more shops around Indonesia I’m going to need his help.
I’ve never taken a loan before but Harry says I should. Doing one shop at a time will take too long and we’ll be too old by the time we have done ten. I had never imagined we could think like this but it’s the money and the customers from facebook that has made us so ambitious. We might take on the world one day. Harry says we should do our own website but I think we should do a few more shops first. It’s all so exciting and so stressful, at the same time!
I worry about the kids and how much time we can spend with them if we are going to expand the business so rapidly. Wahyu is only 7 and Lita is 9. We will have to get help. A cook, a nanny and another driver. I don’t see Harry staying at home!
