Walk with Me
We own a small snake fruit farm. I think it has been in the family since my great great grandfather. My husband, Dito, has worked at our farm since we got married. Although we own the farm, the only time we have enough is when the snake fruit is in harvest. That’s why Dito also works as a farm hand at the big farm near our village. Fortunately I can do some sewing, so I do clothes alterations for people in the village to make some extra money.
At harvest time we sell the snake fruit to a distributor in Banjarnegara. When we go we try to catch a free dangdut show or a wayang performance, so we make a day trip of it. But most weekends Dito is busy working on his motorbike. He loves it more than he loves me I think. I tease him that he dreams of entering the motor-cross race.
